About the Company
sKids was established in 1996 by two parents who envisioned a structured out-of-school care service for primary-aged children. Today, we are proud to be New Zealand's favorite children's hangout, welcoming over 3,800 tamariki daily at more than 170 school sites. About the Role
As a Casual Programme Assistant, your primary responsibilities will include supervising and assisting children during program activities. You will ensure that the working environment remains clean, tidy, hygienic, and safe for all children, staff, parents, and visitors at all times. Additionally, you will assist the Programme Manager in executing daily schedules and tasks as outlined. It is crucial that you report any concerns regarding child behavior or other issues back to the Programme Manager.
Hours of Work
In this role, you will be scheduled on an as-needed basis, primarily from Monday to Friday. Most of your shifts will occur during the after-school hours, which run from 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM. There may also be opportunities to work in the before-school schedule from 7:00 AM to 8:30 AM, but this will be on an as-needed basis. Potential hours may also be available during school holiday programs.
Location of Work
As a Casual/Reliever employee with sKids, you will have the opportunity to work across various sites, including:
- Holy Cross Miramar School
- Newtown School
- St Francis de Sales School in Island Bay
This flexibility allows you to work more hours and gain diverse experiences.
Requirements
We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:
- Hold a valid visa to work in New Zealand without restrictions
- Be able to commute and work at the specified sites
- Have a keen interest in working in similar industries
- Possess previous experience working with children, whether through babysitting or volunteer work
