About the Role We are excited to announce an opportunity to join the Mainfreight family in Timaru as a Class 5 Driver. This permanent, full-time position offers a chance to take on a new and engaging challenge. We are looking for an experienced driver who possesses a growth mindset and is eager to contribute positively to our team. As a Mainfreight driver, you will play a crucial role in our operations. We expect our drivers to not only deliver quality service but also to actively contribute to the ongoing improvement of our services. Requirements The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications: - A current Class 5 Driver’s Licence - A Dangerous Goods Licence and a Fork Hoist Licence (these can be arranged for the right applicant) - A minimum of 2 years of Class 5 driving experience - Strong teamwork skills - A well-presented appearance and good communication abilities - A positive, friendly attitude and a passion for customer service Please note that this role operates Monday through Friday from 7 am to 2 pm. To be considered for this position, candidates must also meet the following criteria: - Be a New Zealand citizen or resident - Pass a Pre-Employment Background Check and Drug and Alcohol Test - Have at least 12 months of driving experience in New Zealand - Successfully complete a driving assessment - Be familiar with the South Canterbury area Benefits Join us on our journey as we work towards our 100-year vision.
