About the Role We are currently seeking an experienced Class 5 driver for our Timaru site. This role offers a varied roster, primarily working Monday through Friday during day shifts, with occasional night shifts and weekend work as needed. Flexibility will be essential to adapt to business demands and seasonal fluctuations. Duties In this role, you will be responsible for: - Representing Hilton Haulage positively, as you are often the face of our company. - Adhering to all health and safety regulations, policies, and procedures, including completing necessary health and safety inductions at customer sites. - Working collaboratively as part of our driving team, fulfilling assigned duties and assisting fellow drivers when needed. This includes attending Toolbox meetings and performing pre-start vehicle inspections to maintain high standards. - Driving safely and defensively, considering factors such as weight limits, hazardous materials regulations, and varying weather and traffic conditions. - Enjoying your work and contributing to a positive team environment. Requirements To be successful in this position, candidates should possess: - A minimum of 2 years of experience in a Class 5 driving role. - Strong geographical knowledge of the South Island. - A proven track record of going above and beyond for customers; we would love to hear your experiences in this area. - Experience working effectively within a team; tell us about a favorite team experience. - The ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies; share a time when you had to acquire a new skill.
