About the Role We are currently looking for a motivated and skilled Consultant Psychiatrist with a particular interest in older adult mental health. This position can be either full-time or part-time and is based at the Greenlane Clinical Centre in Auckland. The role includes a Monday to Friday schedule, with the requirement to participate in an after-hours on-call roster. In this position, you will be part of a well-established and supportive multi-disciplinary team that includes psychiatrists, nurses, allied health professionals, and administrative staff. You will also work alongside a full-time registrar, house officer, and students completing clinical placements. There is an opportunity for the right candidate to take on a formal clinical leadership role. For more information, please refer to the position description. About the Team/Service/Location Awhi Matua is a community-based service located on the Greenlane site. We provide specialized assessment and treatment for adults aged 65 and over who are experiencing mental health issues and/or cognitive changes. Our multidisciplinary team collaborates to optimize the function and wellness of older adults, supporting them in living independently and meaningfully. We offer a range of assessment and recovery-focused treatment options for older adults dealing with serious mental health conditions and psychiatric complications associated with neurodegenerative disorders. Our approach emphasizes high-quality therapeutic interventions within a strong multi-disciplinary framework. About You We are looking for a candidate with excellent assessment and management skills, who is recovery-oriented and able to work collaboratively with service users and their families/whanau. To be successful in this role, you will also need: - Vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand, including a current Practicing Certificate, or eligibility for registration. If you are an overseas specialist, you will need to provide source verification of your qualifications for the registration application. For more details about the registration process and source verification, please refer to our guidelines. - A full and clean driver's license, as this position involves community-based work. - A commitment to achieving equitable outcomes for Māori. This role includes participation in the Liaison Psychiatry and Awhi Matua Consultant Psychiatrist on-call roster.
