About the Role
In this role, you will be responsible for operating company vehicles safely and efficiently. You will start and finish your work in Auckland, working between 30 to 45 hours per week, primarily from Monday to Friday. There may be occasional weekend and public holiday shifts, as we strive to meet our delivery commitments while ensuring the safety and well-being of our team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Safely operating company vehicles and adhering to speed limits.
- Completing a daily truck logbook and submitting reports on mileage while retaining fuel and toll receipts.
- Planning routes to meet delivery schedules.
- Complying with truck driving regulations, including size, weight, route designations, and break periods, as well as company policies.
- Maneuvering trucks into loading and unloading positions.
- Maintaining a current, clean Driver's License while operating a company vehicle.
- Ensuring you are physically fit to carry out all related duties.
- Reporting any serious mechanical issues to the manager.
- Taking full responsibility for the vehicle while on duty.
- Keeping the truck clean and well-maintained.
Requirements
To be considered for this position, you should meet the following criteria:
- At least one year of experience in a driving role.
- A valid and clean Class 5 Driver's License.
- Physical fitness to perform the job duties effectively.
- A solid understanding of health and safety regulations and logbook requirements.
- The ability to conduct routine checks on your truck.
- Availability to work on weekends and public holidays as needed.
- Flexibility to work according to a roster.
- A positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
- A clean character background.
Benefits
We offer a competitive salary that can be negotiated based on your proven experience, ranging from $30 to $32 per hour.
