About the Role
We are currently seeking a skilled Supervisor for our Repair Center within Cubic Transportation Systems. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of Repair Center Technicians, ensuring efficient evaluation and repair of equipment returned from customers and field sites. You will monitor departmental performance metrics and ensure alignment with Cubic’s key performance indicators (KPIs). This position operates under general supervision and involves significant decision-making authority related to operational processes and product quality.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
You will analyze the workload requirements of the repair center and propose staffing modifications to upper management as needed. Prioritizing workflow to meet dynamic throughput requirements will also be part of your responsibilities.
Your duties will include setting and adjusting employee work hours, approving leave requests, and ensuring all repair activities comply with existing processes and standards. You will evaluate and monitor staff performance, providing necessary training and mentorship along with conducting both informal and formal performance management.
In addition to monitoring repair activities to meet departmental goals, you will provide quarterly reports on workshop performance based on service level agreements (SLAs). Collaborating closely with Cubic’s engineering teams, you will review and requisition necessary tools, fixtures, and testing equipment.
You will also provide logistics support between field sites and relevant company departments, interface with customers to address product failures, and define and lead equipment monitoring efforts to ensure compliance with calibration and quality standards. Furthermore, you will participate in training events and assist with department audits as needed.
General Duties and Responsibilities
In this role, you will comply with Cubic’s Quality Management System, Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies, and security policies. Adhering to Cubic Human Resources procedures is also essential. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
Requirements
To be considered for this position, you should possess:
- Qualifications in maintenance planning activities
- A Construction White Card (desirable)
- Relevant tertiary qualifications for the role
You should also have the following skills, experience, and knowledge:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a high-tempo workshop environment
- Previous supervisory experience
- A strong understanding of troubleshooting and root cause analysis methodologies, as well as familiarity with electromechanical principles and electrical inspection equipment
- The ability to motivate and enhance the skills of others in the team
Personal Qualities

You should be willing to travel as required and possess excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. A strong commitment to customer support and service delivery is essential, along with the ability to thrive in a high-volume environment while maintaining quality standards.
Condition of Employment
The successful candidate will be required to pass a National Police Check.
