Currently, we are partnering with a prominent industrial electrical company that has branches throughout Auckland. They are seeking an experienced Industrial Electrician or EWRB-registered Electrical Engineer to join their Machine Safety Team.
About the Role
In this position, you will engage in hands-on technical work that requires creative problem-solving skills. You will have the opportunity to make a difference by ensuring machine safety across various industries, including food production, pharmaceuticals, printing, packaging, plastics, metals, and automation. Each day will bring new challenges, making this role dynamic and rewarding.
Requirements
We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:
- A Registered Electrician or EWRB Registered Engineer, preferably with an industrial background
- Strong verbal communication skills, enabling effective interaction with engineers, operators, and managers
- Proficient computer literacy, including familiarity with spreadsheets
- A valid New Zealand Driver Licence
- New Zealand Residency or a valid New Zealand Work Visa
- Experience in industrial installations, fault finding, or machine safety applications
Bonus points will be awarded for candidates who have:
- A CMSE or TUV Machine Safety qualification (or a willingness to pursue one, as training support is available)
- CAD or Eplan design experience
- An automation background
What You'll Be Doing
In this role, you will:
- Conduct machine safety risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards
- Design and implement effective, compliant machine safety solutions
- Oversee installations with complex timelines, managing projects efficiently
- Troubleshoot and repair machine safety systems with precision
- Collaborate with engineers, customers, and project teams to maintain safe and productive operations
