Civil Estimator

About the Company ConsultANZ is seeking an Intermediate/Senior Estimator to join a leading civil engineering company based in Auckland or Christchurch. Our client specializes in various sectors of civil engineering, including jetties, bridges, piling works, roads, and water infrastructure. About the Role In this role, you will be responsible for a range of key tasks that contribute to the successful execution of projects. Your main duties will include: - Preparing inquiries for subcontractors and materials, as well as reviewing the quotations received. - Managing costs throughout the entire project lifecycle. - Conducting cost planning, preparing bills of quantities, and administering contracts. - Verifying that labor and plant resources included in your cost estimates align with the tender program. - Providing precise commercial advice to Construction Managers, Project Managers, and the Senior Management team. - Preparing and submitting the commercial tender to clients. - Compiling and presenting commercial handover documents to the contract delivery team. - Collaborating with construction teams to gather output and resource data, which will help inform future tenders. Requirements To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following criteria: - A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or a related construction field. - A minimum of 7 years of experience working on technically demanding projects, such as bridges and water treatment plants. - Proficiency in estimation software, including CostX, Benchmark, Excel, and Candy CCS. - A proven track record in estimating and successfully securing large-scale projects while managing an established team. - A strong understanding of engineering techniques and construction processes, along with their applicability. - The ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously or focus on one high-value tender. - Familiarity with quantification, standard measurement methods, and contract forms. - Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying information professionally and assertively to all stakeholders. Benefits We offer a competitive salary range of $130,000 to $170,000, with the possibility of sponsorship and relocation support, based on experience.
