About the Role
We are currently seeking applications for a trainee Cardiac Sonographer to join our Cardiac Ultrasound Department. Our cardiovascular services cater to both local and national populations, focusing on interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, arrhythmia management, heart failure, and adult congenital heart disease.
In this role, you will receive exposure and training across various disciplines within Cardiac Ultrasound. We offer a supportive environment that prioritizes patient-centered care and teamwork. Our commitment to staff development includes excellent investment in education and training opportunities. As part of your professional growth, you will engage in clinical practice and self-directed theoretical study by pursuing the Post Graduate Diploma in Cardiac Ultrasound, offered by the University of Auckland.

About the Team/Service/Location
This position is primarily based at Auckland City Hospital, which is a 1165-bed teaching hospital. Auckland, New Zealand's largest city, boasts a population of approximately 1.5 million and is located in a stunning marine environment with a temperate climate. About You
We are looking for a dedicated individual who is committed to providing excellent patient care. It is essential that you demonstrate the ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining professionalism. Strong communication skills are a must, along with the capability to work collaboratively as part of a team or independently.
You will need to obtain registration as a trainee sonographer with the New Zealand Medical Radiation Technologist Board (mrtboard.org.nz). Please note that the duration of the University of Auckland program is two years, and qualification must be achieved within the fixed-term employment timeframe unless otherwise agreed upon by both parties.
