About the Role
We are currently seeking a Factory Manager to join our team in Onehunga, Auckland. In this role, you will lead our production team and play a vital part in all site operations. You will collaborate closely with other team members, including the Site Manager, Operations Manager, and Administration team.
This position offers Monday to Friday day shifts and is ideal for someone looking to commit to our team for the long term. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Leading the factory to meet production targets and goals
- Collaborating with the Site Manager on site operations
- Ensuring that adequate resources are available for effective execution of the production plan
- Managing inventory control
- Completing necessary reporting
- Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety procedures and investigating any incidents
- Conducting regular safety toolbox talks
- Implementing various lean manufacturing approaches
- Conducting one-on-one meetings with team members
- Training both new and existing staff members
- Coaching and developing team members
- Participating in ongoing recruitment and training efforts
Role Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Experience in roofing materials production is preferred, although any heavy manufacturing management experience will be considered
- Effective communication skills with the ability to make decisions
- Strong leadership and people management abilities
- A minimum of three years of production management experience is essential
- Proficient IT skills, as daily computer use is required
- Experience in recruitment
- A solid understanding of Health and Safety procedures
- Knowledge of accounting principles and employment legislation
- A self-motivated and proactive approach
- Ability to pass a Drug & Alcohol test
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn
