About the Role We are currently seeking a Senior Leader to join our Technology team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in shaping and executing Trade Me's AI and Data strategy. You will lead the charge in driving innovation by leveraging data and AI to enhance our platform, improve decision-making processes, and deliver exceptional value to our customers. As a Senior Leader, you will oversee the evolution of our data platforms and facilitate self-service capabilities. You will also define our AI platform strategy and promote AI adoption throughout Trade Me. Success in this role will be defined by the following outcomes: - AI is effectively integrated and utilized across various business processes and product offerings, resulting in strategic impact. - Trade Me has a well-defined AI platform strategy, with a comprehensive understanding of AI opportunities and challenges across the organization. - Our data platforms are well-managed, supporting business needs, and our Data Platform migration is completed, aligning with our vision of Data Self-Service. - You will influence and collaborate with peers to ensure the delivery of the right capabilities in support of Trade Me's strategies and product roadmaps. - As a champion of our values, you will foster a diverse and inclusive environment while driving innovation and the adoption of AI and data in decision-making. Requirements To excel in this position, you should bring the following qualifications: - Over 10 years of experience in Data/AI-related roles, with at least 5 years specifically in AI. - A minimum of 10 years in leadership positions. - A deep understanding of AI and machine learning, with the ability to drive AI adoption across the organization. - Familiarity with Data Platforms, including data pipelines, data mesh, and data warehouses. - Experience in driving transformational changes and working in online properties such as e-commerce or classifieds portals. - Background in agile organizations that operate at a fast pace. - Proven ability to articulate and communicate a vision and strategy effectively. - Senior leadership experience, including building team culture, capability, and coaching for successful outcomes. - Experience working with diverse stakeholders and a strong ability to influence and motivate teams. - A strategic mindset and creative thinking skills, with a keen understanding of broader business imperatives. - A track record of affecting meaningful change across an organization. - An innate curiosity and willingness to explore new ideas and solutions. - Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with people at all levels.
