About the Role
We are seeking a self-motivated registered health professional, such as a mental health nurse, psychologist, occupational therapist, or social worker, to join our team in Nelson. This part-time position is for 40 hours per fortnight (0.5 FTE).
In this rewarding role, you will be an integral member of the General Practice Team, providing immediate and accessible therapy, particularly Focused Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (FACT), to our patients. You will also deliver evidence-based group programs in collaboration with the General Practice Team, focusing on their enrolled population and their families.
Additionally, you will offer consultation, education, and advice to fellow team members, while supporting local population health initiatives by developing intervention pathways that address clinical needs. We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience working with youth, Pacific communities, Maori, and in mental health settings.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- Registration as a health professional (e.g., mental health nurse, psychologist, occupational therapist, or social worker)
- A commitment to providing equitable care
- A passion for making a difference in the lives of individuals and their families
- Experience working with diverse populations, including youth, Pacific communities, and Maori
- A strong desire to uphold the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in health care delivery
