About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our clinical leadership team as a Unit Coordinator for the Hospital Unit at Hilda Ross Retirement Village in Hamilton. This position involves working from Tuesday to Saturday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with a shared on-call component.
In your role as the Hospital Unit Coordinator, you will leverage your nursing expertise and interpersonal skills to:
- Provide leadership, coaching, and support to your team, ensuring that the care provided meets our high standards.
- Foster the Ryman culture, promoting a safe and enjoyable work environment for all team members.
- Continuously assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care to meet the needs of each resident in the hospital unit.
- Engage actively with residents' families, visitors, Allied Health Professionals, and District Health Boards to build lasting relationships.
- Perform and support your nursing team in conducting interRAI assessments.
- Occasionally provide additional support outside of your rostered hours to attend events or assist team members and residents as needed.
- Dedicate quality time to connect with your team, demonstrating flexibility in your rostered hours to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Communicate efficiently and respectfully with your team, fostering an environment of trust.
- Collaborate positively as a member of a cohesive team.
- Support both the Clinical Manager and Village Manager in achieving our care objectives.
About You
To thrive in our supportive and caring environment, you will possess:
- A current Annual Practising Certificate (APC).
- interRAI training or a willingness to develop this competency.
- Extensive experience as a Senior Registered Nurse or Nursing Leader.
- The ability to lead, share knowledge, and motivate your team.
- A kind and compassionate approach, along with a strong commitment to delivering exceptional care to our residents.
- Flexibility in sharing on-call responsibilities with other Unit Coordinators as coordinated by the Village Manager.
