About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Team Leader to join our supportive and high-functioning Security and Parking team. In this role, you will report to the Operations Manager for Attendants, Security, and Parking at Waikato Hospital and will play a vital role in supporting the wider Clinical and Operational Support Services team at Waikato District Health Board.
As the Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading the Parking and Security Service at Waikato District. Your key tasks will include coordinating and managing a responsive, competent, and quality-focused customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Foster a positive and healthy team culture by role-modeling our organizational values, sharing staff feedback, and recognizing achievements to enhance engagement and morale.
- Oversee daily operations, which includes planning service delivery, tracking performance data, and supporting improvement projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing patient experience.
- Manage HR-related activities such as recruitment, training coordination, compliance reporting, leave tracking, and staff rostering to ensure smooth service delivery.
- Uphold high operational standards by overseeing policy implementation, ensuring compliance with legal and organizational requirements, and verifying the accuracy of financial and payroll data.
- Support broader team functions as needed, taking on additional duties aligned with your role in agreement with your manager.
About the Service
The Clinical and Operational Support Services encompass a variety of services, including Attendants (Orderlies), Nutrition and Food services, Hospitality Support Services, Security and Parking, Laboratory, Pharmacy, Outpatient Nursing, and Waikato Hospital Administration.
About You

Essential Experience and Qualifications
- PSLA COA or equivalent
- Strong experience in security and parking operations
- A solid operational management background, along with a high level of professional competence in management
- Proficiency in the entire Microsoft Office suite
- Strong organizational, communication, and decision-making skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and drive performance using data
- High personal integrity and professional standards
Preferred Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in management
