Forklift Technician
We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Forklift Technician based in Christchurch. This full-time, permanent position offers an immediate start and involves maintaining a diverse range of equipment, including petrol/LPG, diesel, and battery electric forklifts, as well as managing a large rental fleet of forklift trucks.
The pay range for this role is between $38.00 and $45.00 per hour, depending on your skills and experience. About the Role
In this position, we are seeking your versatile mobile forklift technical skills to work on a variety of small and large internal combustion (IC) and electric machines. Your responsibilities will include mobile work at client sites as well as within our Christchurch workshop. There may also be opportunities for additional hours depending on our workload.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair a wide range of light and heavy forklift trucks.
- Detect and diagnose faults on both IC and electric forklifts.
- Dismantle and remove engine assemblies, transmissions, and steering mechanisms, followed by reassembly.
- Repair and replace worn or defective parts, reassemble mechanical components, and refer to service manuals as necessary, utilizing computer assistance.
- Test and adjust mechanical parts after repairs to ensure proper performance.
- Conduct repairs at customer sites or within our workshop as required.
- Process job tasks online through our advanced field service module.
- Participate in online training and personal development opportunities provided by our company.
Key Requirements
- Ability to work effectively within a small, close-knit team.
- A minimum of three years of mechanical experience.
- A strong electrical background will positively influence your hourly rate.
