We are currently seeking experienced Steel Fixers for immediate and ongoing deployment across various infrastructure and commercial projects throughout New Zealand. About the Role We are offering full-time, permanent positions with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week. The pay ranges from $26.00 to $40.00 per hour, depending on experience. Our team will provide personal protective equipment and tools necessary for the job. This role presents an excellent opportunity to work on significant infrastructure and commercial projects, with site locations determined by project demands. We are looking for individuals with proven experience in structural reinforcement who are open to relocating or traveling as needed. Key Responsibilities In this role, you will be responsible for interpreting engineering plans and drawings to cut, bend, and place steel bars and mesh. You will tie rebar using the correct techniques for various reinforcement systems and place and secure steel within formwork before concrete pours. Compliance with health, safety, and quality standards on-site is essential. Additionally, you will work efficiently as part of large construction teams under strict deadlines. Skills and Experience Required To be considered for this position, you should have a minimum of three years of experience in steel fixing or reinforcing steel, either in New Zealand or internationally. You must be able to read and work from technical drawings, possess strong physical fitness, and have a keen attention to detail. Experience in commercial, civil, or infrastructure projects is preferred, and relevant trade experience or qualifications will be advantageous. Nationwide Opportunity and Travel While this role is listed in Taranaki, we are recruiting for positions that will be deployed across all regions of New Zealand, based on project requirements. The regions include: North Island: Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Gisborne, Hawke’s Bay, Taranaki, Manawatu-Whanganui, Wellington. South Island: Tasman, Nelson, Marlborough, West Coast, Canterbury, Otago, Southland.
