About the Role We are currently seeking full-time Construction Technicians to join our team. These positions are permanent and offer a minimum of 30 hours of guaranteed work per week. Depending on project requirements, you will be deployed to various sites around New Zealand. Our roles provide an opportunity to work on significant infrastructure and commercial projects, and we supply the necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) and tools. Key Responsibilities In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks that align with your skills and capabilities. Your main duties will include: - Complying with all aspects of contracts, projects, or tasks while delivering customer service that meets or exceeds expectations. - Erecting scaffolding or ladders for assembling structures above ground level. - Creating structures, forms, or chutes, and pouring concrete. - Covering subfloors with building paper to prevent moisture and laying hardwood or other flooring materials. - Filling cracks or defects in plaster or plasterboard and sanding as necessary. - Positioning and securing steel bars, rods, cables, or mesh in concrete forms using appropriate tools. - Performing general labor tasks, including cleaning construction sites as directed by managers. - Loading and unloading building materials, tools, and equipment, and transporting them around job sites. - Completing other duties as assigned. Requirements We are looking for candidates who possess the following qualifications and traits: - Some experience in the construction industry is preferred but not mandatory. - A friendly demeanor with strong time management skills and an excellent work ethic. - A commitment to learning and developing skills within the construction field. - A sound knowledge of health and safety procedures. - Reliability and a strong work ethic. - Ability to fabricate and install custom joinery and cabinetry. - Experience in general framing, fix-outs, door hanging, skirting, and architraves. - Precision in measuring and cutting materials. - Capability to work effectively as part of a team. - A commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient workspace. - Willingness to collaborate with other trades as required. - Must be able to pass a criminal background check and a drug test.
