About the Role
We are currently seeking dynamic, energetic, and conscientious individuals to join our team as Community Support Workers. In this rewarding position, you will support Service Users living with complex injuries and disabilities within their own homes. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting Service Users with personal care, home help, shopping assistance, and meal preparation
- Supporting exercise programs
- Moving and handling Service Users using hoists and manual transfers
- Assisting Service Users in accessing community resources
This is community-based work, which will involve rotating schedules that include morning, afternoon, and weekend shifts. We will discuss your preferred hours of work during the recruitment process.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, candidates should meet the following prerequisites:
- Experience in personal care is required
- Experience in complex care (including bowel and SPC cares) and managing challenging behaviors is preferred
- A Level 3 or Level 4 qualification in Health and Wellbeing is advantageous; however, we will also consider individuals who are eager to pursue a career in the healthcare industry
- Access to your own car and a full driver’s license is essential due to the community-based nature of the role
- Flexibility to work on a roster, including weekends
- Strong communication skills
- Legal right to work in New Zealand
