About the Role We are currently seeking Community Support Workers for night shifts who are enthusiastic about encouraging and empowering individuals with learning disabilities to lead meaningful lives. As Permanent Relievers, you will play a crucial role in our service by covering both planned and unanticipated leave across all our services. This position requires flexibility, as it involves working various shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Experience in the disability sector is essential, as is a genuine desire to support individuals in achieving their goals. Your responsibilities will include: - Actively promoting self-advocacy, self-confidence, independence, participation, and choice for the individuals we support. - Assisting individuals in achieving opportunities and involvement in a lifestyle valued by them, in collaboration with family, friends, and the community. - Providing support with daily personal needs. What You Will Need - A full, clean, and current New Zealand driver’s license. - Flexibility to work 24/7 on a rotating roster. - Experience or knowledge of working with adults and/or children with intellectual disabilities and/or autism is advantageous but not essential. - A Level 3 New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing or a recognized equivalent qualification is preferred, or a willingness to pursue this qualification. - A commitment to engage in and complete our organizational training requirements. - Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting. - An understanding of the Treaty of Waitangi/Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its relevance to supporting Māori in Aotearoa/New Zealand. - Eligibility to work in New Zealand. - Compliance with our requirement that all employees be fully vaccinated and boosted against Covid-19. - All new applicants must undergo background checks in accordance with the Children’s Act 2014.
