About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Team Leader to join our dedicated team. This role involves providing leadership and support to families and caregivers accessing services for their family members with intellectual and/or physical disabilities and/or autism.
This rewarding position encompasses direct active support for clients, in addition to various administrative and supervisory responsibilities. Reporting to the Service Manager, the Team Leader ensures that our support services meet the highest standards of care and effectively address the needs and interests of each individual.
In this role, you will lead by example, providing active support to both clients and staff. You will be responsible for coaching team members, leading best practices, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, and managing a range of administrative tasks. Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with families to design services that foster self-confidence and independence while encouraging community participation.
- Exemplifying a commitment to the vision and values of Brackenridge.
- Supervising and supporting a team of Community Support Workers.
- Cultivating a positive and learning-oriented culture while playing a key role in orienting and inducting new staff.

What You Will Need
- A full, clean, and current New Zealand driver’s license.
- Flexibility to work a 24/7 rotating roster.
- Completion of Level 3 Health and Wellbeing qualification.
- A minimum of two years of experience in disability support work with adults who have physical disabilities.
- A commitment to engaging with and completing organizational training requirements.
- Awareness of the Treaty of Waitangi/Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its significance in supporting Māori in Aotearoa/New Zealand.
- Eligibility to work in New Zealand.
