About the Role We are excited to announce a permanent full-time Team Leader position, requiring 40 hours of work per week with regular hours from Monday to Friday. Flexibility to support weekend and evening rosters is required. Our Social Work Team operates across the Christchurch Hospital Campus, encompassing six teams that provide 24/7 services across all departments. As a registered Social Worker with experience in health social work, you will thrive in a dynamic multidisciplinary environment. Your positive attitude and enthusiasm for leadership will be essential as you navigate the challenges of a fluid setting, addressing a diverse range of health needs while working at the top of your scope of practice. In this role, your responsibilities will include: - Managing a clinical case load within a defined area of service delivery, as agreed with the Social Work Clinical Manager. You will undertake your own clinical supervision and be responsible for your performance appraisal. - Collaborating with the Social Work Clinical Manager and other Clinical Team Leaders to ensure the appropriate skill mix and staffing levels to meet current and future service demands. - Keeping team members informed about current and new/revised Health New Zealand Canterbury Social Work policies and procedures. - Assisting the Social Work Clinical Manager with recruitment, selection, induction, training and development, performance management, annual performance appraisals, and supervision of the Social Work workforce. - Supporting the Social Work Clinical Manager in coaching and mentoring direct reports, as well as ensuring compliance with legislative requirements related to professional practice and registration. - Ensuring professional supervision of direct reports is conducted as required by the profession and Health New Zealand Canterbury Supervision Policy. You will also work closely with various multidisciplinary teams, so being a team player who can adapt quickly will be essential for your success. About You We are seeking a candidate with proven leadership experience and the ability to cultivate a culture of excellence in professional conduct, personal responsibility, and accountability. You should be able to lead by example while fostering an environment that encourages innovation, creativity in practice, continuous quality improvement, research, teaching, and the development of staff. Demonstrating effective clinical reasoning and evidence-based practice is crucial, as is being a role model for ongoing professional development.
