About the Company At Ozone Coffee, we are a coffee roasting company dedicated to building meaningful connections with a diverse range of talented individuals who embark on new adventures daily. From food enthusiasts to the farmers and growers who supply us, we cherish the opportunity to connect with these remarkable people. Our long-standing relationships with coffee producers grant us access to exclusive and unique coffees, which we proudly serve at our coffee bars located in New Zealand (including Christchurch, New Plymouth, and Grey Lynn in Auckland) as well as at our four sites in London. If you share our passion for a specialist hospitality offering, possess exceptional food and coffee knowledge, and have a strong desire to learn, we would be delighted to hear from you. About the Role We are currently seeking a Front of House supervisor who excels in customer service and has a passion for preparing and serving delicious food. This role will support our Cafe Manager in daily food service operations, team management, and maintaining a welcoming and engaging atmosphere at the counter. The ideal candidate will be able to multitask, think quickly on their feet, and maintain a positive demeanor even in high-pressure situations. Key Responsibilities - Support the Cafe Manager in daily operations and team leadership. - Assist in the recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members. - Manage staff scheduling and ensure effective shift coverage. - Prepare simple cabinet food and assist with kitchen preparation tasks. - Engage with customers at the front of house, including operating the register. - Maintain cleanliness, food safety, and compliance standards. - Contribute to a positive and collaborative team culture. - Step into keyholder or shift-running responsibilities as needed. Requirements - A minimum of 1 year of experience working in a café in a senior role, with a strong commitment to customer service and the ability to build relationships with colleagues and customers. - Must be available to work weekdays and weekends as scheduled. - Knowledge of espresso and soft brew techniques is an advantage, but a willingness to learn about coffee is essential. - Good personal presentation and hygiene. - Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure. - A passion for food, with experience in food preparation and cooking being ideal. Benefits At Ozone, we offer a competitive wage of $28.50 per hour, paid fortnightly, and provide a supportive atmosphere for professional development. As a member of our team, you can expect to: - Be part of an evolving coffee journey where every person contributes to enhancing the coffee world. - Meet like-minded individuals who embody our culture of humility and commitment. - Thrive in a growth-oriented environment free from unnecessary politics and hierarchy. - Work for a brand that is dedicated to doing good, as evidenced by our B-Corp status. This is a permanent, part-time role requiring 4 to 5 days of work per week, with a minimum of 18 hours. If you are passionate about delivering exceptional hospitality and eager to be part of a dynamic team, we encourage you to apply. Please note that applicants must have New Zealand residency or a valid New Zealand work visa. Full details of the role will be provided upon application.
