About the Role
We are excited to announce a newly created position for a Resident Services Manager at Kevin Hickman Retirement Village in Christchurch. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for leading the effective delivery of village service functions, which encompass our kitchen, housekeeping, gardening, maintenance, laundry, and administration teams.
You will also oversee all risk management and health and safety processes for the village. Human resource tasks will be part of your responsibilities, including inductions, recruitment, training, performance reviews, and payroll assistance. Additionally, you will provide leadership at the village in the absence of the Village Manager.
This role requires flexibility, as you will need to be available on call outside of the standard hours of Sunday to Thursday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
Requirements
To succeed in this position, you will need to have proven management experience, preferably with training or experience in health and safety. The ability to juggle conflicting priorities is essential, along with a passion for building meaningful relationships with our staff, residents, and their families.
A strong knowledge of continuous improvement systems and processes is important, as is a high emphasis on customer service, with a commitment to delivering exceptional service to our residents. You should also possess outstanding communication skills, demonstrating professionalism and empathy.
