About the Role
We are currently seeking a skilled Wood Machinist to operate woodworking machinery involved in the production of timber and composite doors. In this role, you will be responsible for cutting, shaping, and finishing timber components to precise specifications, ensuring that our outputs meet the highest production and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate woodworking machines effectively.
- Machine timber and composite materials to the required size, shape, and profile for door production.
- Interpret technical drawings, cutting lists, and job orders accurately.
- Monitor machinery during operation to ensure precision and product quality.
- Conduct routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting of equipment.
- Check machined components for defects and make necessary adjustments.
- Collaborate with production teams to ensure a timely and efficient workflow.
- Adhere to all Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) policies and procedures.
Requirements
To apply for this position, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- A NZQF Level 4 qualification, or at least 3 years of relevant working experience.
- A strong attention to detail and commitment to quality control.
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Physical fitness and manual dexterity.
- Knowledge of timber properties and safe material handling practices.
