About the Role
We are excited to offer the position of Water Treatment Plant Operator at our Ardmore Water Treatment Plant. This role is ideal for an energetic and practical individual seeking a stable career.
As a vital member of our team, you will ensure the safe and effective operation of our plant while delivering exceptional service to our customers. Your responsibilities will include monitoring and reviewing the performance of the treatment plant processes, performing manual tasks, and operating computerized treatment systems.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting routine operational checks and adjustments to ensure compliance with Drinking Water Quality Assurance Rules (DWQAR)
- Maintaining accurate records
- Performing standard operating procedures and managing chemical supplies
- Assisting in the development and review of standard operating procedures
- Participating in an out-of-hours call-out roster to provide emergency coverage for the water treatment plants in the Southern area (this typically involves working nights and weekends one week each month)
About You
To excel in this role, you will bring the following:
- Experience in data analysis, plant processes, and report preparation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, asset databases, and maintenance scheduling
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to water and the ability to swim 50 meters
- A Certificate or Diploma in Water Treatment is beneficial
- A full New Zealand Driver's License
- A can-do attitude
- A technical or trades qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation disciplines would be advantageous
