About the Role
We are currently seeking experienced Steel Fixers for immediate and ongoing deployment throughout the country. These full-time, permanent positions offer a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week, with pay ranging from $25.00 to $40.00 per hour. As a Steel Fixer, you will have the opportunity to work on significant infrastructure projects and commercial developments. We provide all necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) and tools, and site locations will be determined based on project demand. This role is perfect for individuals with a strong background in structural reinforcement who are open to relocating or traveling as needed.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for interpreting engineering plans and drawings to cut, bend, and place steel bars and mesh. You will tie rebar using the appropriate techniques for various reinforcement systems and securely place steel within formwork before the concrete pour. It is essential to comply with health, safety, and quality standards on-site while working efficiently as part of a large construction team under strict deadlines.
Skills and Experience Required
To be successful in this position, you should have a minimum of three years of experience in steel fixing or reinforcing steel, whether in New Zealand or overseas. The ability to read and work from technical drawings is crucial. Strong physical fitness and attention to detail are also important, along with experience in commercial, civil, or infrastructure projects. Relevant trade experience or qualifications will be considered advantageous.

While this role is advertised in Auckland, we are actively recruiting for positions across all regions of New Zealand based on project requirements. The regions include:
North Island: Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Gisborne, Hawke’s Bay, Taranaki, Manawatu-Whanganui, Wellington.
South Island: Tasman, Nelson, Marlborough, West Coast, Canterbury, Otago, Southland.
We welcome applicants from any of these regions and require a willingness to travel or relocate within the country. The company will cover relocation costs as needed.
