About the Role
We are thrilled to offer an opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join one of the busiest Emergency Departments in Australasia. In this role, you will be an integral part of our nursing team, providing essential support and care to patients and their families as they arrive and receive treatment in various areas of the Emergency Department.
As a Healthcare Assistant, you will be responsible for completing daily tasks throughout your shifts while collaborating with your colleagues. Our nursing team will provide you with ongoing educational opportunities tailored to your role, ensuring you have the resources needed to succeed.
About the Service
Our department, situated in the Waipapa building, is organized into functional areas and handles an average of 137,000 presentations annually. This high volume of activity makes our department dynamic and fast-paced.
About You
We are seeking someone who thrives in a multidisciplinary team environment and possesses excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. You should maintain a high level of confidentiality and demonstrate the ability to work effectively under pressure.
Key qualifications and attributes include:
- Availability to work a rotating roster, including mornings, afternoons, and nights
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently within a multidisciplinary team
- Initiative and a proactive approach to your work
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced setting
- An engaging personality with energy and enthusiasm
- Basic computer literacy
- Physical fitness, as the role requires significant time on your feet and walking around the department
