As a support worker, you will engage in a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to: - Assisting with personal care, such as showering and bathing - Supporting household management and meal preparation - Facilitating exercise programs - Assisting individuals in accessing the community - Providing bowel, bladder, and catheter care - Performing moving and handling tasks, including hoists and manual transfers - Offering medication support Job Location: Christchurch & Oxford Employment Type: We offer both permanent positions (30+ hours) and part-time roles (up to 29 hours). There are various employment opportunities available, including casual, part-time, and full-time positions, which we will discuss further during the recruitment process. Days of Work: Given the community-based nature of this role, rotating rosters will be involved, including morning, afternoon, and weekend shifts. We are open to discussing your preferred working hours during the recruitment process. The duration of hours may vary based on the specific needs of the individuals we support. Candidate Pre-Requisites: - Prior experience in personal care is preferred - Familiarity with complex medical conditions, such as spinal injuries or traumatic brain injuries - A Level 3 or Level 4 Health and Wellbeing qualification is beneficial; however, we also welcome those looking to enter the healthcare sector, as comprehensive training can be provided - Access to a car and the ability to drive independently (a full New Zealand Driver's License is required) - Flexibility to work on a rotating roster - Legal right to work in New Zealand Benefits - Competitive pay band of $24.13 - $30.03 per hour, based on the Pay Equity Settlement 2017, which assesses hourly pay rates according to healthcare qualifications - Flexible working hours - Travel allowance in accordance with In Between Travel (IBT) rules - Opportunities to obtain Level 3 and Level 4 Qualifications in Health and Wellbeing through Careerforce NZ - Paid competency training - Free Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) services - Free flu vaccinations - Refer a friend program Interested?
