About the Role
We are looking for resilient, energetic, and conscientious individuals interested in supporting people with health-related issues or disabilities. This role is more than just a job; it is an opportunity to build strong, trust-based relationships with the individuals we support, helping them to live fulfilling lives.
As a support worker, you will engage in a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to:
- Assisting with personal care, such as showering and bathing
- Supporting household management and meal preparation
- Facilitating exercise programs
- Assisting individuals in accessing the community
- Providing bowel, bladder, and catheter care
- Performing moving and handling tasks, including hoists and manual transfers
- Offering medication support
Job Location: Christchurch & Oxford
Employment Type: We offer both permanent positions (30+ hours) and part-time roles (up to 29 hours). There are various employment opportunities available, including casual, part-time, and full-time positions, which we will discuss further during the recruitment process.
Days of Work: Given the community-based nature of this role, rotating rosters will be involved, including morning, afternoon, and weekend shifts. We are open to discussing your preferred working hours during the recruitment process. The duration of hours may vary based on the specific needs of the individuals we support.

We are seeking individuals who possess a calm yet confident demeanor, demonstrating resilience and an understanding of the challenges faced by our service users. The role of a support worker comes with responsibilities that can be both challenging and fulfilling. Candidate Pre-Requisites:
- Prior experience in personal care is preferred
- Familiarity with complex medical conditions, such as spinal injuries or traumatic brain injuries
- A Level 3 or Level 4 Health and Wellbeing qualification is beneficial; however, we also welcome those looking to enter the healthcare sector, as comprehensive training can be provided
- Access to a car and the ability to drive independently (a full New Zealand Driver's License is required)
- Flexibility to work on a rotating roster
- Legal right to work in New Zealand
