About the Role We are currently seeking resilient, energetic, and conscientious individuals to join our team as support workers. This role involves providing invaluable support to people with health-related issues or disabilities. Support work is not just a job; it is a deeply empathetic journey that allows you to build strong, trust-based relationships with the individuals we support, ultimately helping them to lead fulfilling lives. In this position, your responsibilities may include: - Assisting with personal care tasks such as showering and bathing - Supporting household management and meal preparation - Facilitating exercise programmes - Assisting individuals in accessing their communities - Providing bowel, bladder, and catheter care - Handling mobility aids, including hoists and manual transfers - Supporting medication management Job Location: Tokoroa, Putaruru, Tirau Employment Type: Part-Time (up to 29 hours per week) We offer various employment opportunities, including casual, part-time, and full-time positions, which will be discussed during the recruitment process. Due to the community-based nature of this work, a rotating roster will be involved, which may include morning, afternoon, and weekend shifts. We are open to discussing your preferred hours of work during the recruitment process, and the duration of these hours may vary depending on the specific needs of the individuals we support. Requirements We are looking for calm yet confident individuals who demonstrate resilience and understand the challenges faced by our service users. As a support worker, you will encounter various responsibilities that can be both challenging and rewarding. The ideal candidate will possess the following prerequisites: - Previous experience in healthcare is advantageous, but we welcome those looking to enter the sector, as comprehensive training can be provided. - Access to a personal vehicle and a full New Zealand driver’s license is required for this role. - Flexibility to travel and work on a rotating roster. - A legal right to work in New Zealand. Benefits We offer a competitive pay band of $24.13 to $30.03 per hour, based on the Pay Equity Settlement 2017, which correlates with healthcare qualifications.
