We are currently seeking experienced Carpenters to join our dynamic team. About the Role As a Carpenter with Extrastaff Limited, you will play a crucial role in our projects, which may require you to work across multiple locations throughout the country. We are looking for organized and trustworthy individuals who are motivated and results-driven. Your responsibilities will include: - Shaping or cutting materials to specified measurements using hand tools, machines, or power saws. - Following established safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe and clean working environment. - Measuring and marking cutting lines on materials using a ruler, pencil, chalk, and marking gauge. - Installing structures or fixtures such as windows, frames, flooring, trim, or hardware using hand or power tools. - Verifying the accuracy of structures using a plumb bob and level. - Building or repairing cabinets, doors, frameworks, floors, or other wooden fixtures using woodworking machines and tools. - Selecting and ordering lumber or other required materials. - Assembling and fastening materials to create frameworks or props using hand tools and various fasteners. - Removing damaged or defective parts of structures and repairing or replacing them. - Maintaining records, documenting actions, and presenting written progress reports. - Inspecting various structures to detect broken or damaged elements. - Erecting scaffolding or ladders for assembling structures above ground level. - Finishing surfaces of woodwork or wallboard in buildings. - Studying drawings and creating forming shutters for concrete work. - Creating structures for pouring concrete for large jobs. - Coordinating with subcontractors for specialized work such as heating or electrical wiring. - Covering subfloors with building paper to prevent moisture and laying hardwood or other flooring types. - Filling cracks or defects in plaster or plasterboard and sanding them. - Applying decorative paneling to ceilings or walls. - Preparing cost estimates for clients or employers. - Working with or removing hazardous materials. - Performing minor plumbing, welding, or concrete mixing tasks. - Completing additional duties as assigned. Requirements To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following: - A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in carpentry or a relevant qualification. - A friendly demeanor with strong time management skills and an excellent work ethic. - A commitment to continuous learning and skill development within the industry. - Sound knowledge of health and safety procedures. - Reliability and a strong work ethic. Benefits We offer competitive pay ranging from $26.00 to $40.00 per hour, with a minimum guarantee of 30 hours of work per week. Location You will primarily work in Auckland, Waikato, Northland, Nelson, Canterbury, and Otago. This is a permanent, full-time position.
