About the Role
We are currently seeking a part-time Driver/Sales Worker to join our team. This role is essential to the daily operations of our retail depot and stores located in Karangahape Road, Glen Innes, and Federal Street. As a Driver/Sales Worker, you will engage in a variety of tasks, including collecting donations from households and businesses, delivering stock to store stockrooms or shop floors, and assisting the donations lead at the depot with stock management. This position may involve heavy lifting, but support will be provided by the donations lead or a volunteer when needed.

Duties
- Load and unload donations onto the delivery van by hand or using a trolley according to the daily schedule.
- Transport shop goods safely and efficiently to storerooms and depots.
- Collect donations from households and businesses, ensuring the safe return to the depot in a timely manner.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with donors, store managers, and your line manager.
- Operate vehicles and related distribution machinery safely and in compliance with regulations.
Requirements
- A Class 1 Driver’s Licence and F-endorsement Forklift Licence are essential.
- Physical fitness and the ability to perform heavy lifting.
- Dependable with strong time management and organizational skills.
- Problem-solving abilities and resourcefulness.
- Empathy and an understanding of issues related to trauma, mental health, addiction, poverty, and homelessness.
- Relevant skills and experience may be gained from various activities, including paid or voluntary work, involvement within your Church or Marae, or specific iwi/whānau responsibilities.
