About the Role
We are excited to offer a permanent, full-time position for an Advanced Pharmacist specializing in Mental Health. This role involves a commitment of 40 hours per week and is primarily based at our Porirua Campus, with occasional cross-cover responsibilities at our Wellington site.
As an Advanced Pharmacist in Mental Health, you will serve as a role model for your peers, providing support, advice, and education within the pharmacy department and to other healthcare professionals. You will play a vital role on the Mental Health, Addiction, and Intellectual Disability Service (MHAIDS) Medicines Advisory Group, offering expert guidance on medicine-related policies and procedures across the sub-region.
About the Team/Service/Location
Our pharmacy team is highly respected among clinicians, nursing staff, and senior management within the organization. We continuously seek ways to enhance our service and the quality of care we provide. Our comprehensive pharmacy services cover the Capital Coast and Hutt Valley District, which includes clinical services, dispensary logistics, and quality risk services. We also operate an aseptic production service at Capital Coast Hospitals in Wellington and Kenepuru. Our goal is to improve the quality and effectiveness of prescribing as well as the supply and distribution of medicines. We are committed to professional growth, emphasizing clinical development and medication optimization for our patients.
About You
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a strong passion for pharmacy and mental health. The ideal candidate will have previous hospital pharmacy experience and the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse range of healthcare professionals. While experience in mental health is highly desirable, we are open to providing training for the right candidate.
Applicants must be registered with the Pharmacy Council of New Zealand or be eligible for registration in New Zealand.
