About the Role
We are excited to offer a permanent, full-time position for an Advanced Pharmacist for Critical Care at Wellington Regional Hospital. This role involves working 40 hours per week, with a salary range of $111,240 to $117,420.
Wellington Regional Hospital serves as a tertiary care facility, providing critical care services to patients across the Central Region. In this position, you will deliver a clinical pharmacy service to patients in the Intensive Care and High Dependency Units. Additionally, you will participate in providing dispensary cover once a week.
While we prefer candidates with experience in Critical Care clinical pharmacy, we are open to training a suitable candidate. Previous experience in hospital pharmacy within New Zealand is highly desirable.
About the Team/Service Location
Our pharmacy team is highly regarded by clinicians, nursing staff, and senior management throughout the organization. We continuously seek ways to enhance the quality of service and care we provide. Our comprehensive pharmacy services extend across the Capital Coast and Hutt Valley District, including clinical services, dispensary logistics, and quality risk management. We also operate an aseptic production service at Capital Coast Hospitals (Wellington Kenepuru). Our goal is to improve the quality and effectiveness of prescribing, supply, and distribution of medicines throughout the region. We value professional growth and prioritize clinical development and medication optimization for our patients.
About You
We want to connect with experienced hospital pharmacists who are eager to advance their careers, particularly those with prior experience in a Critical Care setting. You should be self-motivated with a broad clinical background, capable of working autonomously and innovatively. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team are essential. You must be registered as a pharmacist in New Zealand with a valid Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) or be eligible for registration.
