About the Role
We are currently seeking energetic and motivated Support Workers to join our Choices in Community Living services in Auckland. This is a full-time, permanent position with a 24/7 roster that includes working overnight shifts and alternate weekends.
As a Support Worker, you will assist individuals who access our services in living as independently as possible in their own homes. You will be part of a dedicated team providing continuous support, and your responsibilities will include aiding with personal care, facilitating community outings and integration, and assisting with various daily living activities.
Your specific responsibilities will also involve providing support in the following areas:
- Morning assistance to help individuals get up and transition in and out of their wheelchairs for the day
- Support during lunch and dinner times
- Evening assistance for getting ready for bed and ensuring safety
Requirements
We are looking for candidates who possess the following qualifications:
- Flexibility to work overnight shifts across a roster, including weekends
- Prior experience in supporting individuals with daily living activities, especially those with intellectual or physical disabilities
- A full driver's license and confidence in safely transporting passengers in our disability vans (training will be provided)
- Empathy, respect, and cultural awareness, as our clients come from diverse backgrounds with varying needs and interests
