About the Role We have full-time, part-time, and casual positions available throughout Auckland for individuals who want to make a positive impact in the lives of children and young people aged 5 to 21 years old. In this role, you will provide support in our respite homes, working with an amazing group of children who may exhibit challenging behaviors and require personal care. The position may involve split shifts, including early mornings, late afternoons, weekends, and sleepover shifts. As such, we require candidates who are fully available to work across all shifts. Requirements To be considered for this role, you will need to meet the following criteria: - A Full New Zealand Driver's License - Experience supporting children or youth (aged 5-21 years) and/or individuals with disabilities, particularly those facing challenging behaviors - Strong communication skills to effectively interact with colleagues and the individuals we support, including proficiency in technology and computer skills - Empathy and a willingness to assist individuals with daily living tasks, personal care, and their goals and aspirations - Physical fitness for a moderately active role - Availability to work on a rotating roster from Monday to Sunday The ideal candidate will also possess: - An interest in obtaining a Community Support Worker Level Three or higher qualification, with our support to achieve this while you work - Reliability, commitment, and a passion for working with people - The ability to pass a New Zealand police check and Oranga Tamariki check - Proficiency in computer use, including programs such as Word, Internet Explorer, and email Benefits When you join us at Spectrum Care, you can expect: - Ongoing development and study opportunities, allowing you to earn while you learn - A supportive and collaborative work environment - Competitive pay rates starting from $23.50 to $29.10 per hour, based on Health and Wellbeing qualifications (or equivalent), plus allowances for split shifts and sleepovers - A meaningful career where you can truly make a difference in the lives of children and youth For non-resident applicants, please note that you must meet the following Immigration New Zealand Level 3 skill requirements: - At least three years of relevant work experience, or - A relevant qualification on the New Zealand Qualifications and Credentials Framework (NZQCF)—this must be at least a Level 4 qualification for a role at skill level 3, or a diploma for a role at skill level 2.
