Duty Manager

About the Company We are a busy supermarket located in Christchurch, dedicated to providing exceptional service and quality products to our community. Our team is at the heart of our operations, and we are looking to expand our fantastic group with a new Late Afternoon / Evening Duty Manager. About the Role We are seeking a motivated and friendly individual to join us as a Duty Manager. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting our store operations during the late afternoon and evening shifts. The successful candidate will have experience in a supermarket environment and will demonstrate a range of key attributes that align with our commitment to excellence. Requirements The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes: - Strong organizational and efficiency skills - Excellent communication abilities at all levels, along with empathy - Attention to detail throughout the store - Quick problem-solving skills - A dedication to customer service and achieving store objectives - A capacity to learn quickly - Proven leadership skills, including performance management experience with large teams - Calmness and clarity in high-pressure situations - Discretion with sensitive information Key responsibilities for this role will include: - Upholding high merchandising standards - Supporting Department Managers with day-to-day store operations - Conducting daily and nightly department checks - Assisting managers in meeting financial targets - Ensuring excellent presentation of the store and staff - Maintaining compliance with Health and Food Safety regulations - Being on call some evenings - Supporting store owners in elevating store standards - Supervising the store in the absence of management - Assisting all departments as needed If you have the relevant experience and skills for this role and thrive in a busy work environment, we would love to hear from you.
