About the Role
We are currently looking for a skilled and motivated Laboratory Technician to join our Histology team at Hawke's Bay Hospital. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to contribute to essential diagnostic services in a supportive and professional environment.
As a Laboratory Technician in the Histology department, you will be responsible for the following:
- Processing and preparing tissue samples for microscopic examination.
- Performing routine histology techniques, including embedding, sectioning, and staining.
- Ensuring quality control and compliance with laboratory standards.
- Maintaining and operating laboratory equipment.
- Collaborating with laboratory scientists and pathologists to support accurate diagnostics.

About You
To succeed in this role, you will need to meet the following criteria:
- Hold a relevant qualification in Medical Laboratory Technology.
- Be registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand.
- Have experience working in a histology laboratory or a strong interest in developing expertise in this area.
- Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and technical skills.
- Exhibit strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Be committed to maintaining high-quality standards and pursuing continuous professional development.
