About the Role
As a Construction Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting our various projects throughout the country. We prefer candidates who are flexible with work locations, as you may be required to travel. Your responsibilities will include:
- Performing tasks within your skills that are necessary for the successful operation of our business.
- Complying with all aspects of contracts, projects, or tasks and providing customer service that meets or exceeds expectations.
- Erecting scaffolding or ladders for assembling structures above ground level.
- Creating structures, forms, or chutes and pouring concrete.
- Covering subfloors with building paper to prevent moisture and installing hardwood, parquet, or wood-strip-block floors.
- Filling cracks or defects in plaster or plasterboard and sanding patches using appropriate tools.
- Positioning and securing steel bars, rods, cables, or mesh in concrete forms using various tools.
- Performing general labor, including cleaning construction sites as directed by managers.
- Loading and unloading construction materials, tools, and equipment and transporting them around building sites.
- Completing any other duties as assigned.
Pay Conditions
The hourly wage for this role ranges from a minimum of $25.00 to a maximum of $32.00, depending on experience and skills. We guarantee a minimum of 30 hours of work per week.
Requirements
We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
- Some experience in the construction industry is preferred but not essential.
- A friendly demeanor, strong time management skills, and an excellent work ethic are essential.
- A commitment to learning and developing your skills within the industry.
- A sound knowledge of health and safety procedures.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
Location
You may be required to work in multiple locations throughout New Zealand, including regions such as Auckland, Northland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Hawke's Bay, Taranaki, Gisborne, Whanganui-Manawatu, Wellington, Marlborough, Nelson-Tasman, Canterbury, West Coast, Otago, and Southland.
This is a permanent, full-time position.
