About the Role
As a Construction Technician, you will play a vital role in our projects across the country. Flexibility in work locations is preferred, as you may be asked to assist with various assignments nationwide. Your responsibilities will include tasks within your skill set that are essential to our operations. You will be expected to comply with all aspects of contracts, projects, and tasks while delivering customer service that meets or exceeds expectations.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Erecting scaffolding or ladders for assembling structures above ground level.
- Creating structures, forms, or chutes and pouring concrete.
- Covering subfloors with building paper to prevent moisture and laying hardwood, parquet, or wood-strip-block floors.
- Filling cracks or defects in plaster or plasterboard and sanding patches.
- Positioning and securing steel bars, rods, cables, or mesh in concrete forms.
- Performing general labor to clean construction sites as directed by managers.
- Loading and unloading construction materials, tools, and equipment and transporting them around job sites.
- Completing any other duties as assigned.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, candidates should meet the following criteria:
- Some experience in the construction industry is preferable, though not essential.
- A friendly demeanor, strong time management skills, and an excellent work ethic are essential.
- A commitment to learning and developing your skills within the industry.
- A solid understanding of health and safety procedures.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
Location
This position may require you to work in various locations throughout New Zealand, including Auckland, Northland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Hawke's Bay, Taranaki, Gisborne, Whanganui-Manawatu, Wellington, Marlborough, Nelson-Tasman, Canterbury, West Coast, Otago, and Southland.
Benefits
- Competitive pay ranging from a minimum of $25.00 per hour to a maximum of $32.00 per hour.
- A minimum of 30 hours of work is guaranteed.
- This is a permanent, full-time position.
