    Description

About the Company We are a family-owned business that has been proudly serving the outdoor timber industry for over 40 years. Our primary focus is to provide value to our customers through high-quality products. From fence posts and accessories to farm buildings and furniture, we specialize in outdoor timber solutions. Our reputation is built on our commitment to quality and our expertise in providing a range of products, including posts, poles, wire products, electric fencing, kitset farm buildings, treated sawn timber, treated plywood, outdoor furniture, and essential support products like cement, fasteners, and tools. About the Role We are currently seeking an Outdoor Timber Specialist (Sales/Yardperson) to join our team at our Retail Store located at 75 Barry Avenue, Cromwell. In this role, you will engage with customers both in person and over the phone, assisting them with their product needs to ensure they receive the best value for their projects. You will be part of a small team, which means you will also be responsible for tasks such as assembling orders, unloading and loading trucks, operating a forklift or loader, and organizing product inventory. Our standard working hours are Monday to Friday from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM, with Saturday mornings worked on a roster basis among the team. Requirements While experience in customer service, yard work, farming, or forklift operation may be beneficial, we value your ability to demonstrate key qualities such as: - A dedication to serving our rural customers and a passion for producing and supplying natural products. - Self-motivation and reliability. - Honesty, integrity, and a commitment to delivering on promises. - Strong communication skills to engage effectively with our customer base about farming-related topics. - A personable character capable of relating to a diverse range of individuals. - Physical fitness sufficient for lifting timber and posts, along with a commitment to safe work practices. - A willingness to learn and be trained in new skills. You will need a full driver's license or the ability to obtain one soon, as driving our vehicles and obtaining F/W license endorsements is part of the role. Benefits We offer a supportive work environment with opportunities for in-house training and online learning. We also cover the costs of external training, including forklift, wheels, and first aid certifications. You will have the satisfaction of building lasting relationships with our customers rather than just completing transactions. This position is flexible and can accommodate various stages of your working life, whether you are just starting out, looking for a change, or seeking to advance your skills. Additionally, you will receive a team discount upon joining our company and work alongside dedicated teammates who are recognized for their expertise.
