About the Role
We are seeking a Collection and Delivery Coordinator who will play a vital role in the success of our stores. This position is primarily responsible for ensuring that donated goods are collected and delivered in an efficient, safe, and timely manner. The ideal candidate will excel in providing an exceptional customer and donor experience that encourages repeat visits.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding customer service to both customers and donors
- Complete collections and deliveries of goods according to a daily schedule
- Plan and schedule efficient routes to optimize store operations
- Load, unload, and stack goods safely and appropriately
- Conduct daily vehicle checks to ensure the vehicle is maintained to a high standard
- Comply with policies and standard operating procedures, particularly regarding health and safety
- Contribute to general duties within the Family Stores as required
Person Specification
We are looking for a resilient, positive, and people-oriented team player who can relate to individuals from diverse backgrounds. The ideal candidate will possess:
- A full, current, clean New Zealand driver's license (class 1) and confidence in operating a small truck, including basic maintenance (manual and auto)
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to work closely with colleagues to achieve common goals
- Physical fitness and the capability to perform regular heavy lifting, which is a daily requirement of the role
- Strong self-management skills, allowing for task prioritization and adaptability under pressure
- Quick thinking and logical problem-solving abilities
- Clear communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficiency in using various retail and communication technologies
- An ethical approach to work, fostering respect, honesty, and transparency while upholding the values of The Salvation Army
- The ability to work within established procedures while exercising sound judgment when needed
- The legal right to work in New Zealand, with all employment offers subject to a satisfactory Ministry of Justice clearance/police check

Hours of Work
This is a permanent position offering 40 hours per week. Please note that Family Stores operate on public holidays. The starting hourly wage for this role is $27.80.
