About the Role
We are currently seeking a dedicated Support Worker to join our team based in Tauranga. This role requires working on weekends and every second Wednesday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
In this position, your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting individuals within our housing and recovery mental health service.
- Demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a wider team.
- Assisting clients with budgeting and independent daily living skills.
- Attending appointments and advocating for the individuals we support.
- Helping clients connect with their communities.
- Being prepared to assist with various tasks, including cleaning, cooking, and other everyday activities, to ensure the well-being of those we serve.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, we prefer candidates who hold the New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (or an equivalent qualification) or are willing to begin studying for this qualification within six months of employment.
Additionally, you must possess:
- A current full New Zealand driver's license.
- A current first aid certificate or the willingness to obtain one.
- Knowledge of and a demonstrable commitment to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
