About the Role
We are currently seeking a BIM Manager (Digital Engineering) to join our national design team at Calder Stewart. This role can be based in either our Christchurch or Milton office, with the possibility of overnight travel due to the national coverage of this position. The BIM Manager will oversee external consultants and stakeholders, working on commercial and industrial design/build projects focusing on software and process development and implementation. You will be responsible for transforming client concepts into research and development initiatives, leading to implementation with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and training at both project and business levels.
Requirements
We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications and attributes:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in the commercial or industrial construction sector, ideally with experience in New Zealand.
- A solid understanding of architectural and structural design, along with familiarity with other disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, fire, and environmental.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and/or AutoCAD and other BIM software.
- Experience managing multiple projects, typically ranging from 4 to 6 at any given time.
- Proven experience in research and development of design/BIM packages leading to implementation and SOP development.
- Adult teaching skills or experience would be an advantage.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
- A strong work ethic, demonstrated leadership experience, and an accommodating, level-headed personality with the ability to take feedback and think laterally.
