About the Role
We are currently seeking a BIM Manager (Digital Engineering) to join our national design team at Calder Stewart. This role will involve managing both internal and external consultants and stakeholders. The position can be based at either our Christchurch or Milton office, with the potential for overnight travel due to the national scope of the work.
The BIM Manager will focus on commercial and industrial design/build projects, emphasizing software and process development and implementation. You will be responsible for transforming client concepts through research and development, evaluation, and implementation, including the creation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and training at both project and business levels.
Requirements
We are looking for a professional with the following skills and attributes:
- A minimum of five years of experience in commercial or industrial construction, preferably within New Zealand.
- A solid understanding of architectural and structural design, along with familiarity with other disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, fire, and environmental engineering.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and/or AutoCAD, as well as other BIM software.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, with a typical workload of approximately 4-6 projects.
- Proven experience in research and development of design/BIM packages, leading to implementation and SOP development.
- Desirable adult teaching skills or experience.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- A strong work ethic with demonstrated leadership experience.
- An accommodating personality, capable of receiving feedback and employing lateral thinking.
