About the Company
We are seeking dedicated individuals for various seagoing positions on our factory freezer trawlers operating within the New Zealand Exclusive Economic Zone in 2025. Our vessels are based in Port Lyttelton, where we strive to maintain high standards of safety and efficiency in our fishing operations.
About the Role

Successful applicants will be required to report for duty at our home port in Lyttelton. The contract period is six months, with each voyage lasting between four to six weeks, during which time there will be limited opportunities for time ashore during port turnarounds.
Requirements
Candidates must have previous deep-sea fishing experience. We value specific qualities in our fishing crew, including:
- A strong focus on safety
- Effective communication skills
- The ability to foster good relationships
- Openness to receiving and following instructions and feedback
- A mature work ethic characterized by honesty, reliability, and trustworthiness
- The ability to work well under pressure
- Physical fitness and good health
Applicants who do not meet all requirements may still be considered for alternative opportunities. We offer sponsored positions for suitable candidates to complete a basic entry-level course designed to prepare them for employment at sea. This intensive live-in training course will simulate the rostered work schedule experienced on board our vessels. Successful completion of the course will lead to further employment processes.
It is important to note that pre-employment and ongoing drug testing is mandatory for all positions.
