We are currently looking for an Administration Assistant to join our store Administration team, contributing to our mission of providing excellent service and support across various departments.
About the Role
The Administration Assistant will be a vital part of our Central Administration team, located in our Timaru store. This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday, which promotes a healthy work-life balance.
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that our back-end functions operate seamlessly. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing accurate and efficient support in all areas of administration.
- Balancing floats and preparing tills before store opening.
- Managing department banking and maintaining files for finance contracts while processing payments.
- Following up on outstanding finance debts to ensure timely settlement.
- Matching delivery dockets from the warehouse with invoices and purchases, verifying accuracy.
- Processing invoices in preparation for payment.
- Maintaining an organized filing system for all documentation.
- Answering incoming telephone calls in a friendly, polite, and helpful manner.
Requirements
While experience in the retail industry or administration is beneficial, the most important attributes we seek include:
- Strong organizational and administrative skills, with great attention to detail.
- A team-oriented mindset and a desire to work collaboratively within a close-knit team.
- An inherent ability to create order and adhere to established processes.
