    Description

Job Title: Account Manager Location: Christchurch Salary: $70,000 - $85,000 based on Experience About the Company: We are a well-established, locally owned company recognized as a trusted manufacturer and supplier of screen media solutions. Our services support the quarrying and mining industries across New Zealand and Australia. With operations that include manufacturing and warehousing facilities in both countries, we have built a reputation for delivering high-quality products and demonstrating industry expertise. Since our founding in the mid-90s, we have experienced steady growth and remain privately owned and managed. Our diverse portfolio includes woven wire mesh, rubber and polyurethane products, self-cleaning screens, and modular screen panels. About the Role: We are looking for a hands-on, customer-focused Junior Account Manager to join our team. This position is ideal for someone with a background in manufacturing or engineering who understands operational processes and enjoys problem-solving while providing support to existing customers, all without the pressure of sales targets. This role is not about being a sales representative; instead, it focuses on building long-term relationships and providing reliable support as the key link between our customers and internal teams. It presents a unique opportunity for individuals transitioning from hands-on roles to a client-facing position with significant growth potential. This position is expected to evolve into an Account Manager role within a year and may lead to senior leadership or executive opportunities in the future. Key Responsibilities: Customer Relationship Management: - Serve as the first point of contact for existing customers, engaging with them over the phone and in person. - Visit customers in designated regions to ensure satisfaction and provide necessary solutions. - Make follow-up calls during quieter periods to check on stock levels and offer additional support. - Represent the company at our annual conference, typically held in July. - Attend sales meetings and provide customer feedback when requested. Order & Admin Support: - Answer incoming calls and assist with general customer inquiries. - Prepare and process production orders. - Assist with ordering and tracking of overseas stock. - Prepare written reports following customer visits and sales trips. Planning & Logistics: - Assist in planning and executing annual customer visit trips, including approximately four nights away as required. - Coordinate travel, rental vehicles, and accommodation for regional visits. - Collaborate closely with internal sales and production teams to ensure smooth communication and delivery. Health & Safety: - Consistently adhere to workplace health and safety policies. - Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and report any incidents or hazards. Continuous Improvement: - Contribute ideas aimed at improving company standards, procedures, and service delivery. - Support internal teams with process improvements and customer feedback. Requirements: - Experience in manufacturing, production, or trade industries. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Strong organizational and time management abilities. - Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. - Willingness to travel (approximately four nights per trip). - Proactive and professional approach with a customer-first attitude. Benefits: - No sales targets or pressure—this role emphasizes genuine relationship management. - Perfect for individuals looking to transition from hands-on work to a client-facing role. - Join a reputable company that values its people. - Opportunities for career progression into senior or executive roles. - Be part of a supportive, team-oriented environment.
