About the Role
We are currently seeking part-time Support Workers to join our Whanau Support Services team in Kapiti. In this role, you will be a vital part of a team dedicated to providing a safe and nurturing environment where individuals can develop confidence, learn new skills, and build friendships within the community.
As a Support Worker, your primary responsibility will be to assist people in their homes and communities, enabling them to lead fulfilling and meaningful lives. You will help support them in pursuing their personal dreams and goals, which may include activities such as swimming, attending sporting events, engaging in arts and crafts, going to the movies, or shopping. The possibilities are vast and varied.
Requirements
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about helping others and possess a kind and understanding nature. While previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred—especially experience working with youth—it is not mandatory.
Key requirements include:
- A full driver's license and ownership of a vehicle
- A genuine desire to support individuals in learning new skills and achieving their goals
- An energetic and outgoing personality with the initiative to encourage others
- Respect for diverse perspectives and lifestyles, as the individuals we support come from various backgrounds with unique needs and interests
- Empathy, respect, and cultural awareness are essential in this role

In return for your dedication and hard work, we offer a competitive pay rate ranging from $23.50 to $29.10 per hour.
