About the Role
We are currently seeking an Asphalt Specialist Operator to join our Canterbury Paving team. If you have a passion for asphalt and enjoy being part of a close-knit crew, this role may be the perfect fit for you.
As an Asphalt Specialist Operator, you will be responsible for a variety of paving tasks, ranging from driveways and subdivisions to airport runways and full motorway overlays. Your role will involve operating paving machinery and completing general labor tasks to ensure that we deliver our work safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.
In addition to your primary responsibilities, you will:
- Ensure strict adherence to Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Operate paving machinery professionally and efficiently.
- Perform general labor duties as required within the paving department.
Requirements
We are looking for candidates who possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- A Class 1 License with WTR endorsements; a Class 2 License is advantageous.
- Experience in various asphalt laying scenarios and with different asphalt products.
- A proactive approach to health and safety, which we prioritize above all else.
- A passion for laying quality pavement and a commitment to delivering excellent work.
- The ability to follow instructions effectively and contribute positively to team dynamics.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- A willingness to learn and pursue opportunities for skill development.
