About the Role We are currently seeking a dynamic Café Manager to lead our team and oversee the daily operations of our café. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring outstanding customer service, managing staff effectively, maintaining inventory, and upholding our high-quality standards. Your leadership will drive our café's success and enhance our reputation within the community. Key Responsibilities In this position, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: - Developing and implementing efficient operational procedures to maximize productivity and minimize waste. - Monitoring inventory levels and placing orders for supplies, ingredients, and equipment as needed, while adhering to budget constraints. - Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in compliance with health regulations. - Handling customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints professionally and promptly. - Overseeing cash register transactions and ensuring accurate balancing. - Managing finances, including budgeting, cost control, and revenue generation. - Coordinating catering services for meetings and special requests, tailored to customer needs and within specified timeframes. - Collaborating with customers to plan and execute catering orders, ensuring seamless service delivery for both regular and one-off events. - Supervising food and beverage preparation and presentation to guarantee consistency and quality. - Hiring, training, and supervising café staff, while creating schedules to ensure adequate coverage during peak hours. - Accurately recording staff hours on a daily basis. - Ensuring daily production minimizes sold-out items and reduces waste. - Maintaining display cabinets to ensure they are full and visually appealing. - Planning menus in consultation with the chef. - Organizing special functions. Requirements To be considered for this role, candidates should possess: - A minimum of three years of experience in a similar position, preferably in a café or restaurant setting, or hold a relevant level 5 diploma or higher qualification. - The ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays if necessary. - Strong attention to detail and a passion for maintaining cleanliness. - The capability to work independently as well as part of a team. - Excellent time management skills to complete tasks within specified timeframes. - A professional demeanor when interacting with clients and colleagues. - References from previous employers. Benefits We offer full-time permanent employment with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week. The pay rate ranges from $28 to $32 per hour, depending on experience.
